Carlus became a ballroom and latin dance instructor at a studio in Texas in 2005. There, he met his dance partner and now wife Josie. In 2007, they started their own dance instruction and performance business at a studio they operated for 4 years until moving to Southern California. Currently residing in Orange County, Carlus is a certified personal trainer and model while continuing to travel to various competitions and events as teachers, performers, competitors, and judges, focusing on West Coast Swing.
